Dear Bidder,The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator.Below is a summary of the work to be performed:The consultant will conduct a comprehensive market research study on access to finance for tourism SMEs and cooperatives in Nakuru, Narok, and Kajiado counties. The assignment will cover both the demand side and supply side of financial services. On the demand side, the consultant will assess the financing needs, gaps, risk profiles, and repayment capacities of tourism SMEs and cooperatives. On the supply side, the consultant will review the product portfolios, risk appetite, and institutional readiness of financial service providers (FSPs) including banks, SACCOs, and MFIs. Key tasks include: mapping and engaging stakeholders; reviewing existing financial products, services, and policy frameworks; designing and implementing field research (surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions); and analysing demand- and supply-side gaps. The consultant will generate actionable recommendations to support the design or adaptation of tourism-specific financial products and present findings in a stakeholder validation workshop.Travel to Narok, Nakuru, and Kajiado counties will be required for stakeholder consultations.
