• Tenders are invited for Conduct an Environmental and Social Assessment, Develop Environmental and Social Management Training Manual and Train Tots for Improved Cookstove Enterpeneurs under Promotion of Climate-Friendly Cooking in Kenya The project “Promotion of Climate-Friendly Cooking: Kenya and Senegal” (GCF/EnDev), implemented by GIZ, Ministry of Energy and other implementing partners, commenced in March 2020 and will run until December 2024. The project objective is to accelerate the growth of the Improved Cookstoves (ICS) sector with an irreversible market transformation that will significantly increase the level of ICS production and sales, thereby enabling Kenya to significantly advance the achievement of Kenya climate goals relating to cooking energy. The project supports ICS market development focusing on supply side (professionalisation, mechanisation, quality assur­ance and business development support, access to finance and distribution channels), demand side (awareness creation and behavioural change communication/campaigns) and facilitating a supportive enabling environment. The project aims to build capacity of ICS entrepreneurs on environmental and social safeguards, through Training of Trainers (ToTs), who will replicate the project-s training components and enhance the entrepreneurs- skills and knowledge. Call for bids from potential firms/companies GIZ is calling for firms/companies to tender their bids to conduct an environmental and social assessment, develop ESMP training manual and undertake training of trainers of selected ToTs and staff. Interested firms/companies must provide verifiable proof of qualifications and experience. The firm/company is requested to review the indicated qualifications in Terms of Reference (ToRs).
