Description:
Tenders are invited for Consultancy for Selection of an Emergency Department and a Training Skills Lab for Assistance Under the BMZ SSF Upesi Health Project. Malteser International (MI) is the worldwide relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta that has for over 60 years provided relief and recovery during and following conflicts and disasters. MI also work alongside vulnerable communities on long-term programs to deliver lasting change. Christian values and humanitarian principles form the foundations of our work: bringing aid to people regardless of their religion, background, or political convictions at over 100 Projects in more than 20 countries. MI-s vision is a life in health and dignity for all; its mission is to provide emergency relief in crises such as natural disasters, epidemics, or armed conflicts and carry out programs that enable people transform their lives for the better. The approach is to protect health by ensuring people have access to functioning medical structures, adequate nutrition, clean water, sanitation, and hygiene as well as strengthen the resilience of people in especially vulnerable regions against future crises. The German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development-Social Structural Fund through MI in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) stakeholders is implementing the Upesi Health Project which seeks to improve emergency medical care with focus on pre-hospital care through promotion of appropriate legislation, enhanced private public partnership, standardized training curriculum, accreditation improved coordination of relevant actors and strengthening of systems and associations. The project-s main objective is to contribute to a decrease in direct and premature mortality and invalidity due to preventable medical emergencies by improved EMS in Kenya. The project contributes to the following outcomes: Outcome 1: Contribution to the development and implementation of appropriate legislation and binding framework for regulation of EMS in Kenya Outcome 2: Enhanced mechanisms to promote human resource development for EMS in Kenya Outcome 3: Enhanced Emergency Medical Service System at National and County Governments
