Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Data Collection in Kenya for the Creation of Scale to Measure Psychosocial Outcomes. Publication Date: 11-Jan-2023 Expression of Interest Deadline: 30-Jan-2023 The contractor will collect data in two phases: (i) the scale will be pre-tested through interviews with 60 participants (30 refugees and 30 hosts); (ii) based on the pre-testing results, the scale will be adjusted and piloted together with additional related scales with 1000 participants. The pre-test data collection is planned to start in the first quarter of 2023, the pilot and corresponding data will be delivered by March 2023. The pre-testing will be done in person in Nairobi through interviews with 30 members of the refugee community in Kiswahili and with 30 host community members in English. The pilot will be done in Nairobi and in Kakuma camp and Kalobeyei settlement. Pilot participants will be divided into 4 groups according to language and nationality: (i) Kiswahili-Kenyans, (ii) English-Kenyans, (iii) Somali-refugees, (iv) Juba Arabic-South Sudanese refugees. The contractor will back-translate the scale from English to Kiswahili, Somali, Juba Arabic, Turkana, and French. The sample for the pre-testing and the pilot will be provided by the World Bank. All inter interviews will be administered via Computer Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI). The contractor will code the scale (for the pre-testing) and additional related scales (for the pilot) in an ODK based survey software (SurveyCTO or KoBo) or Survey Solutions and test its smooth functioning before being fielded. The contractor will incorporate hard and soft constraints to ensure good quality data is collected. The coded questionnaire should include real-time quality checks through techniques like range validations, where applicable.
