Assignment Countries: - Kenya ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION Nairobi and Mombasa face several risks from climate variability and change, that necessitate robust resilience and adaptation strategies. E.g., urban flooding is increasingly becoming frequent due to rapid urbanization, poor urban planning and loss of green spaces. The City Climate Finance Gap Fund is a multi-donor fund that aims to help bridge the urban financing gap to achieve low carbon, climate resilient urbanization pathways. The Fund supports cities and local governments in preparing and prioritizing climate-smart plans and investments towards realizing their climate ambitions, turning low-carbon, climate-resilient ideas into strategies and finance-ready projects. In Kenya, the Fund shall be anchored on the Kenya Urban Support Program, an ongoing World Bank funded Program supporting 59 municipalities across 45 urban areas towards establishing and strengthening urban institutions to deliver improved infrastructure and services Publication Date: 03-May-2022 Expression of Interest Deadline: 16-May-2022
