Description:
The UN-Habitat will organize the second session of the UN-Habitat Assembly in person at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) complex from 5 to 9 June 2023. The UN-Habitat Assembly is the world-s highest-level decision-making body on urbanization with a universal membership of 193 member states of the UN. The Assembly, which meets every four years, will make decisions and pass resolutions that will frame the global urbanization agenda, look at major trends, norms, and standards related to human settlements and sustainable urbanization and advise on the implementation of global agendas such as the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. The theme of the second session is “A sustainable urban future through inclusive and effective multilateralism: achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in times of global crises”. An Urban Expo featuring exhibitions from partners will take place during the Assembly.
