  • Expression of Interest are invited for Research Study for Kenya School-Based Teacher Support Initiative Qualification Criteria ยท 1. Provide Information Showing that They are Qualified in the Field of the Assignment. ยท 2. Provide Information on the Technical and Managerial Capabilities of the Firm. ยท 3. Provide Information on Their Core Business and Years in Business. ยท 4. Provide Information on the Qualifications of Key Staff. Working under the supervision of the WB, the selected firm will be expected to successfully conduct all aspects of the research study. The work will involve 3 phases including: 1) Research Phase (assessment of current practices, ideation of possible solutions, evidence gathering on best practices for mobile applications), 2) Advisory Services (technical advice / advisory services on how to leverage research for developing an app that can introduce practical solutions), and 3) Follow-Up Research Phase (piloting and capturing of pilot results). The selected firm will be responsible for the creation of a team that meets the needs of both work streams research and advisory services. The minimum request is that the team consists of at least three experts (one expert in quantitative research and impact evaluation, an expert team member for qualitative research, and an expert team member on mobile application development). The team composition should include national experts. The exact division of work will be decided by the institution, but in general, the team leader will be responsible for discussions, negotiations, final decisions, shape of the research, while further team members will be tasked with more technical issues (revision of technical reports, in-depth interviews with service providers, decision makers, teachers, revision of existing research reports, development of wireframes, development of Alpha and Beta versions of the app, etc.). Interested firms should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. The shortlisting criteria are: (i) experience conducting research in the education field, with a particular focus on teacher in-service training; (ii) demonstrated knowledge of the Kenyan education system; (iii) ability to recruit national and international experts in the topic at hand; (iv) proven record of experience and innovation in the technology, mobile platform, and application field; (v) team composition; (vi) experience working with international organizations on similar assignments.
